Hi everyone

i am just starting to use this vectrino velocimeter, currently i am having some questions on the velocity polts i am getting.

i got the data from .dat file, i am just plotting the X probe velocities

see from the plot, there are two different parts of velocity, one aroun 8-10 m/s, that seems in the good range.

the other part is around 0- -3m/s

my question is why this is happening

and is it something wrong with the probe or not?

Hi Ray,

This is just the velocity signal phase wrapping because the maximum flow velocity is higher than the maximum velocity the instrument can currently measure. Change you nominal velocity range so the horizontal and vertical ranges (right window in Deployment Planning dialog) are appropriate for your flow. You can also search the forums to read a bit more about this, try searching for "velocity range" and "phase wrapping".

P.J.
