New firmware versions for Aquadopp single point current meters

New firmware versions for Aquadopp current meters have recently been released for download from our support page. The current versions are now 3.34 for the regular Aquadopp current meter and 3.36 for the Aquadopp deepwater version. We recommend to run Aquadopps with the inductive modem option with these firmware versions (3.34 for CMs and 3.36 for DWs) or later firmware releases. The interface between the Aquadopp and the inductive modem module (IMM) has been improved in these versions, making it more robust.

These versions require the parameter in the IMM called debugLevel to be set to the factory default value of debugLevel=2. A change in this parameter setting will lead to a malfunction in the storage of data from the Aquadopp to the IMM. Our documentation of the inductive interface of the IMM reflects the correct setting of the debugLevel parameter. Firmware version 3.35 for the Aquadopp current meter and version 3.37 for the Aquadopp deepwater version are now available from our support page. When used with the inductive modem option, these versions support both the setting debuglevel=0 as well as debuglevel=2 in the Inductive Modem Module.

Status code indication in the sen-file has been improved to better indicate data drop out due to power loss or break detects. 

NMEA formatted ASCII output through two new commands, NS and NM which are counterparts to AD/ST and MA/AS. The NMEA format is the same as described in our System Integrator Manual which can be found here.
