Deployment planning

Posted by Shannon Frey at May 26. 2009

Hi,

I am planning on deploying two aquadopp current profilers and one AWAC in the near future for an extended period of time.  I am struggling with how to set up the deployment.  I would like sampling to be set up such that the instruments measure and record for 10 minutes once every 4 hours, or something similar.   Is it possible to do this?  And how is this done?  I have read the manual but have not found it very helpful for this.

Thank you

Shannon

Hi Shannon,

What you should do is to enter the deployment planning menu for both instruments in the AquaPro and AWAC AST software correspondingly. Once these menus are opened you should choose a Profile Interval of 14400 seconds (= 4 hours). For the AWAC you should in addition select a wave interval of 14400 seconds. Following this you should tick the "Use Advanced settings" box and open the advanced menu, where you select an average interval for current profiles of 600 seconds. The latter will give you 10 minutes averages every four hours.

Best regards,

Ketil
