Calibration and Compass update

Dear Sir

I am 2 mount before use ADCP aquadop in East kalimantan-Indonesia, and I have got 2 question basically in site :

1. How many years, mount, or week every calibration instrument Aquadop ADCP ?

2. Write in header data compass  update 2 sec.? why not 600 sec same like I am use RDI-ADCP ?, How influent to the data and power instrument ?

a) You do not need to recalibrate the Aquadopp

b) You can program the update rate for the compass in the advance menu.  If you want to collect data from a moving mooring line, rapid updates make sense. For instruments mounted on the bottom, one update per burst is enough. The effect on the battery consumption is quite small.
