2010 User seminars

Within the span of three weeks we have arranged two well-attended user seminars (Seattle and Oslo) as well as our annual international representative seminar. Listening to excellent speakers on both sides of the Atlantic was both interesting and fun. Talking to our own commercial branch is equally important since is is invaluable for feeding customer comments to the Nortek development and production staff. Still, it also feels like a medium size tornado just came through and we are still a little dazzled.

NortekUSA user conference 2010 in Seattle

This time, our lack of attention to the world outside the seminars resulted in 71 unanswered emails in my inbox alone and a notebook full of action items.  The embarrassment of a seemingly unresponsive organization is no fun and we long for a secretarial service that can answer question about matrix transformations.  Still, it seems like a small price to pay when we consider the inspiration we receive from listening to scientist and engineers explaining what they are trying to accomplish.  Hearing and seeing what is easy, what is difficult and what should clearly be improved is fun and get our creative juices flowing.  Not to mention that the European user seminar turned into a veritable lecture series on the technical aspects on tidal energy.  Fun!

A sincere thank you to all speakers and attendees - we learned a lot and we hope you will be back next year (dates to be announced quite soon)!

PS Our 2010 seminar in China will be held in Tianjin this fall
